Job summary

The City of Hartford is seeking an experienced Grants Manager to lead a significant project within the Office of Management, Budget, and Grants. You will oversee grants from application to reporting, ensuring compliance with terms and conditions and building a knowledge base in our grants system.

Responsibilities include coordinating with Finance and other departments, generating reports, training staff, and managing grant proposals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Public Policy, Finance, Economics, Project Management or closely related field.
• Five (5) years of full-time, responsible professional experience related to grants management, grant compliance, or management of grant-funded projects or programs.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate grants through their lifecycle from application through award, implementation and reporting.
• Ensure compliance with grant terms and conditions and funder requirements.
• Develop and maintain relationships with grant-making organizations and coordinate with internal departments (e.g. Finance).
• Provide training and guidance to staff around grant processes and management.
• Prepare and submit grant proposals and maintain grant portals and reporting.
