Job summary

Catholic Charities of Northeast Kansas is seeking a Grants Specialist to secure funding and oversee grant compliance. You will research and write proposals, manage grant calendars, and cultivate relationships with grantors to support missions across programs.

The role requires 2–3 years of grant writing experience, a relevant bachelor’s degree, and adherence to VIRTUS training and screening processes. Expect collaboration across finance, programs, and compliance teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent in nonprofit management, English, journalism, or related field.
• 2–3 years’ experience in grant writing or social services.
• Must complete VIRTUS training, background screening, and drug testing.

Responsibilities

• Research, write, and submit grant applications on behalf of the organization.
• Develop and maintain a schedule for grant opportunities in development.
• Cultivate relationships with grantors through meetings, site visits, and other avenues.
• Serve as liaison among grant accountant, program manager, and compliance team.
• Monitor grant budgets and expenditures to ensure targets are met.
• Prepare and coordinate program reports required by grantors.
