Job summary

Catholic Charities of Northeast Kansas, Inc. is seeking a Grant Writer to promote the mission by preparing grant applications and reports to diverse funders.

The role supports post-award activities, ensures compliance, and serves as a resource for finance and program managers. You will research, write, and submit grant proposals, maintain development schedules, cultivate grantor relationships, and coordinate program reports.

Qualifications

• Passion for Catholic Charities mission.
• Willing to adhere to agency values (love, patience, kindness, faithfulness, self-control, joy).
• Must complete VIRTUS training, background screening, drug testing, and ongoing training as required.
• Must have a valid Kansas or Missouri driver’s license, dependable transportation.
• 2–3 years’ experience in grant writing or social services.
• Strong multi-tasking and organizational skills; able to meet deadlines.
• Able to work independently and in a team-based environment.

Responsibilities

• Research, write, and submit grant applications in a timely manner.
• Develop and maintain a schedule for grant opportunities.
• Cultivate relationships with grantors through meetings and site visits.
• Develop policies and procedures with grants staff to ensure compliance.
• Serve as liaison among grant accountant, program manager, and awarding agency.
• Periodically check grant budgets and expenditures.
• Provide status reports on grant implementation with finance and program teams.
• Gather data for reports and maintain financial and program records.
• Prepare and coordinate program reports for grantors.
• Represent CCNEK at external funder events.
