Job summary

Fordham University in New York seeks a Grants Manager to support post-award management for external grants. You will work closely with faculty Principal Investigators to safeguard budgets, monitor expenditures, and coordinate with the Office of Sponsored Programs and Grants Accounting.

The role reports to the Vice Provost for Research and Chief Research Officer, supporting grant administrations across multiple units.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s preferred for advanced research administration roles.
• 5+ years of experience in research administration; minimum of 1 year in related roles.
• Familiarity with electronic proposal submission systems (Grants.gov, Research.gov, ASSIST, Proposal Central).
• Strong interpersonal, collaborative skills across units; commitment to high professional standards.
• Ability to manage multiple grants and projects concurrently; strong organizational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Monitors expenditures and encumbrances against budgets to prevent deficits.
• Submits budget modifications and no-cost extensions to the Office of Sponsored Programs.
• Conducts regular meetings with PIs to review grant expenditures and progress.
• Assists PIs with hiring processes and job descriptions for grant personnel.
• Reviews subcontract agreements and performs subrecipient monitoring with Grants Accounting as needed.
• Develops draft continuation budgets and coordinates with OSP for review and submission.
• Prepares funding reports and coordinates with Grants Accounting for sponsor communications.
• Assists with grant purchasing and travel reimbursements through FINBUY and FINPAY systems.
• Acts as liaison among faculties and university offices to ensure post-award compliance.
