Job summary

The Iowa Department of Homeland Security and Emergency Management (HSEM) seeks a detail oriented grants/accounting professional for the Grants and Finance team. You will ensure payments are compliant, monitor budgets, and assist with audits as part of a dynamic state agency.

On-site work is required, with potential for long hours during disaster response. Strong computer and regulatory interpretation skills are essential to support multiple grant programs and reporting obligations.

Qualifications

• Six months of accounting experience or 12 semester hours in accounting/finance.
• Bachelor's or higher in accounting/finance/business administration with related professional experience.
• Master's degree in business/public administration with applicable budget experience.

Responsibilities

• Process payments through EMGrants and the State Accounting System, and audit transactions for compliance.
• Assist grants and accounting team with financial monitoring, AP tasks, and reports.
• Budget oversight and reconciliation across REP, SLCGP, and related programs.
