Job summary

The City of Atlanta's Department of Grants and Community Development is seeking a Financial Analyst I to develop, interpret, and implement financial concepts for planning and control. This position operates under very general supervision and may lead or mentor staff on projects.

The role performs technical analysis, prepares forecasts, and conducts economic research related to grants, with familiarity in grant systems and Microsoft 365. Salary range is $62,500 - $68,000 annually.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
  • Seven (7) years of professional related experience may substitute for the required degree on an exceptional basis; and
  • Three (3) years of professional related experience.

Responsibilities

  • Develops, interprets, and implements financial concepts for financial planning and control.
  • Performs technical analysis to determine present and future financial performance.
  • Gathers, analyzes, prepares, and summarizes recommendations for financial plans, trended future requirements, and operating forecasts.
  • Performs economic research and studies on rates of return, depreciations, working capital requirements, investment opportunities, investment performance, and government requirements.
  • Routinely provides work group leadership, guidance, and/or training to less experienced staff.
  • Coordinates with program analysts, service providers, and City departments for grant-efficient and effective financial management.
