Research Foundation of The City University of New York (RFCUNY) seeks a Finance Associate to provide day-to-day financial and administrative support for the Institute for Justice and Opportunity. You will monitor OTPS expenditures, process invoices, maintain financial records, and prepare reports, reporting to the Director of Finance and Operations.

The role requires detail orientation, organization, and collaboration with program staff and partners.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Public Administration, or related field required.
• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Minimum of one year of relevant experience in financial administration, accounting support, budget tracking, or grants management.
• Experience in nonprofit/higher education or grant-funded environments preferred.

Responsabilités

• Monitors OTPS spending across grants and accounts.
• Maintains internal grant expenditure tracking systems.
• Reviews and submits invoices for programs and grants.
• Prepares monthly OTPS budget vs. actual reports.
• Performs routine reviews of financial transactions and supporting docs.
• Meets with departments to identify spending issues vs. budget.
• Maintains electronic and paper filing systems.
• Assists with training staff on financial procedures and systems.
• Supports monthly/quarterly/annual financial reports for reconciliations and audits.
• Coordinates with John Jay College, RFCUNY, and CUNY contacts.
• Attends Institute events as required.
• Reviews expenses for completeness and alignment with budgets.
• Tracks spending deadlines and supports grant closeout activities.
