Job summary

A.R.T./New York is seeking a Grants Coordinator to support the Programs Department in managing its grant‑making programs, reports, and communications. The role will work with the Director of Programs and collaborate with development and communications to ensure accurate information and impact reporting.

The ideal candidate brings strong writing and interpersonal skills, experience in nonprofit theatre funding, and a commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility.

Qualifications

  • Understanding NYC theatre community as artist or administrator.
  • Strong spoken and written communication with colleagues, applicants, and other stakeholders, with the ability to provide feedback with patience.
  • Excellent listening skills and ability to analyze situations.
  • Ability to work on a collaborative team and independently to complete tasks on time.
  • Macro-level planning with micro-level execution experience.
  • Attention to detail with task organization and follow-through.
  • Interest in facilitation or leading conversations.
  • Commitment to anti-racism and anti-oppression in grant programs.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and CRM systems.
  • Office setting experience; willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and implement A.R.T./New York’s five grant programs, maintain grants calendar, forms, and emails, ensuring alignment with values.
  • Recruit and manage grant panelists, distribute login info, draft contracts, and provide pre-panel training.
  • Support member theatres through the application process; provide tech support and info sessions; give feedback via email/phone.
  • Collaborate with Communications to ensure grant information is accurate on website, social media, and newsletters.
  • Track, analyze, and report on grant program impact.
  • Work with Development to keep funder materials updated.
  • Ensure grant language/processes align with diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility.
  • Assist Director of Programs with expediting review of micro-grants (Access/Body Autonomy).
  • Department Administration: manage calendar, code receipts, provide on-site staff support for events.
  • Represent A.R.T./New York at external events and participate in planning to meet organizational goals.
