Job summary

The Salvation Army seeks a Grants & Contracts Manager at its Divisional Headquarters Finance Department in Hartford, CT. This full-time, non-exempt role oversees grant administration, compliance, and reporting across CT and RI.

Responsibilities include coordinating audits, developing policies, and training teams to ensure donor requirements and federal/state regulations are met. Strong grant management and budgeting skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, finance, business administration, or related field preferred.
• Minimum of three years in grant management, compliance, and reporting in nonprofit sector.
• Ability to coordinate across departments and manage multiple projects with strict deadlines.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with grant management experience.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the budgeting, reporting, and closeout of all grants in CT and RI.
• Ensure alignment of grant-funded programs with donor requirements and regulatory standards.
• Coordinate grant audits and monitoring visits to maintain documentation and processes.
• Develop and update grant management and compliance policies and procedures.
• Provide guidance and training to program and finance teams on donor regulations and reporting.
