Job summary

Mount Sinai Health System seeks a Grants and Contracts Manager for the Division of Nephrology to oversee complex research portfolios and guide compliance, financial stewardship, and process improvements. The role balances hands-on grant management with leadership and cross-functional coordination.

The position reports to the Division Administrator, guiding faculty PIs, grants staff, and divisional leadership in financial strategy, sponsor reporting, and portfolio oversight to support long-term

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance, or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience (Masters preferred, ideally MPA, MPH, MHA).
• 5 years of progressive experience in grants and contracts management (experience in finance a plus).
• Microsoft Office Word and Excel-Intermediate.
• Strong analytical skills with good communication and attention to detail.
• Knowledge of accounting principles and practices to compile reports on financial status and operations.

Responsibilities

• Collaborative Partnership: Liaison between faculty, grants managers, external funding agencies, and internal offices.
• Grants and Contracts Management: Support pre-award budget development, post-award monitoring, subcontract oversight, and closeout.
• Administrative & Data Oversight: Maintain data in the Grants Tracking System and share updates.
• Financial Analysis & Reporting: Analyze data to support budget planning and decision‑making; produce forecasts and trends.
• Financial Operations: Process POs, contracts, invoices, travel requests, fund transfers, deposits; ensure proper allocations.
• Payroll Coordination: Manage salary allocations, trackers, and time/effort reports; support payroll records.
• Portfolio Oversight: Coordinate activities across multiple awards and advise on renewals and renewals.
• Special Projects: Contribute to divisional initiatives and strategic projects.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance, or related field

Masters preferred, ideally MPA, MPH, MHA
