Job summary

City of Hampton seeks a Grant Program Manager to research, analyze, and evaluate administrative and operational procedures, programs, and goals to ensure optimal utilization of resources. The role involves managing all aspects of grant programs and office procurement processes, as well as preparing written and oral reports and proposals, and presenting recommendations to diverse audiences.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Government, Business Admin, or related field; Master’s preferred.
• Minimum five years of progressively responsible management experience in community or public services with staff supervision.
• Experience managing municipal, federal, state, and private grant-funded programs, including budgeting, reporting, procurement, and performance measurement.
• Leadership and operational management experience in municipal or nonprofit settings; ability to build partnerships and implement strategic initiatives.
• Advanced computer proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and related budget/data systems.
• Combination of education and experience may be considered; strong communication with internal/external customers.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license and pass a background check.

Responsibilities

• Conduct research, analyze, and evaluate administrative procedures and programs to optimize resource use.
• Manage grant programs and office procurement processes.
• Prepare written and oral reports and proposals; present recommendations to diverse audiences.
• Support the City's Violence Prevention efforts and participate in special projects as required.
• Work under general supervision from designated senior management.
