Job summary

Leoforce is assisting a mission-driven organization in Albuquerque, NM, to hire a Grants Accountant responsible for grant funding compliance, reporting, and budgeting. The role focuses on accurate financial tracking across multiple grants and close collaboration with program managers.

You will manage reconciliations, support audits, and ensure readiness for internal and external reviews, leveraging GAAP knowledge and grant regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of accounting experience with grant accounting preferred.
• Strong GAAP knowledge and fund accounting principles.
• Experience with federal or state grant compliance (OMB Uniform Guidance preferred).
• Proficiency in accounting software such as Sage or QuickBooks.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple grants and deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Manage and track grant funding in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
• Prepare and maintain accurate financial reports for grant-funded programs.
• Monitor budgets and ensure proper allocation of grant expenses.
• Perform account reconciliations and support month-end close processes.
• Assist with audits and ensure compliance with grant requirements.
• Collaborate with program managers to ensure proper financial tracking and reporting.
• Maintain documentation and readiness for audits.
