Swinomish Indian Tribal Community is seeking an Accountant II- Grants Accountant to support the Finance Department by managing grant accounting, budgets, and reporting. The role emphasizes accuracy, compliance with grant terms, and timely financial deliverables.

The position involves coordinating with program staff, processing journal entries, and preparing SEFA and closeout documents, with a focus on maintaining audit-ready records for assigned grants.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree in Accounting, Business or Similar required.
• 5+ years of experience working with grants or funding agreements.

Responsibilities

• Set up and maintain accounts and audit-ready files for assigned agreements.
• Ensure budgets are entered accurately and maintained throughout the period.
• Prepare and submit financial reports as required by award terms and conditions.
• Serve as primary financial contact between funding agencies and the Tribe for assigned agreements.
• Assist in grant audits, compliance, SEFA preparation and year-end adjustments.
• Process journal entries, drawdowns, revenue adjustments and invoices.
