Job summary

Macon-Bibb County is seeking a Grants Accounting Supervisor to lead budgets, oversee grant revenues and expenses, and ensure accurate monthly and annual reporting across federal, state and local programs. Directly supervises Grant Accounting Associates.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Accounting or Finance with 4 years of governmental accounting experience, a Master’s with 2 years, or an equivalent combination. CPA preferred and knowledge of grant accounting standards is desirable.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance with four (4) years’ governmental accounting experience.
  • Master’s Degree in Accounting or Finance with two (2) years in governmental accounting or equivalent.
  • Prior management or supervisory experience is strongly preferred.
  • CPA preferred and knowledge of Federal Cost Accounting and Financial Reporting Standards is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage multi-governmental grant budgets and ensure accurate, compliant budgets.
  • Prepare adjustments for budget amendments, transfers, and special budgets.
  • Monitor and review regulations for governmental financial reporting on grants.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual reports including revenue projections and grant reconciliations.
  • Reconcile grant vouchers and manage journal entries; review account activity.
  • Conduct audits of sub-recipients and ensure compliance with policies.
  • Coordinate with program staff for contract and budget related activities.
