Job summary

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in communications, English, or business administration required; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 4 years of professional grant writing experience with track record of securing multi-year commitments.
  • Experience researching opportunities via grants.gov and other funding portals.
  • Strong writing, research, and proposal development skills with excellent organizational ability.
  • Ability to manage multiple grants simultaneously and meet deadlines; travel may be required.
  • Experience working with Native American communities preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and oversee ongoing submissions for grants and contracts.
  • Gather documentation and fulfill requirements of government agencies to seek funding for Bay Mills Indian Community.
  • Maintain a calendar of grant proposals, due dates, submissions and deadlines.
  • Persuasively communicate the organization’s mission and program goals to funders.
  • Coordinate with department managers to identify funding needs and prepare grant submissions.
  • Ensure submissions are reviewed by accounting/legal as needed and submitted on time.
  • Track submissions and communicate outcomes to Tribal Manager, Planning Manager, and Grants Management.
  • Attend mandatory trainings and perform other duties as assigned.
