Job summary

Kalispel Tribe of Indians is seeking a grant writer and researcher to support tribal programs, including health, education, and social services, through identifying funding opportunities and preparing proposals.

The role requires strong writing and research skills, budgeting ability, and the capacity to work with staff across departments while maintaining confidentiality. Some evenings or weekends may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a field with writing/research requirements for grants.
• Minimum 2 years grant writing/research experience for tribal/state/local governments.
• Ability to read and implement grant guidelines and budgets.

Responsibilities

• Identify and respond to grant opportunities; maintain a grant calendar.
• Prepare and submit grant proposals and budgets per guidelines.
• Cultivate funding resources and communicate with directors to align priorities.
• Provide grant-related support to staff and departments; ensure confidentiality.
• Coordinate with stakeholders to implement grant activities and reporting.
• Maintain compliance with tribal and funder requirements; perform other duties as assigned.
