We believe meaningful care starts with meaningful work, and we strive to create a workplace where collaboration, accountability, and genuine support are part of our everyday culture. Our team is united by a shared mission to help people build stability, wellness, and hope for the future. This position reports directly to the President/CEO.

About the Role

At LIV Recovery Sober Living, we believe recovery is strengthened by compassionate, dependable support at every level of care. We are seeking a detail-oriented and mission-driven full-time Grant Writer to help sustain and expand our sober living and outpatient behavioral health services through strong grant development, funder stewardship, and accurate reporting. In this role, your work will directly contribute to the financial stability that allows clients to access care, continue treatment, and receive the support they need. This is a meaningful opportunity for someone who values accuracy, service, collaboration, and being part of a mission that truly changes lives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Research and identify grant opportunities that support sober living, outpatient behavioral health services, substance use recovery, peer support, relapse prevention, case management, and community-based recovery programming.
  • Write, edit, and submit competitive grant proposals, letters of inquiry, continuation applications, and required reports for government, foundation, corporate, and community funding sources.
  • Collaborate with leadership, program staff, clinical partners, and finance personnel to gather narratives, budgets, outcomes data, utilization metrics, and client impact stories that strengthen funding requests.
  • Develop grant narratives that reflect LIV’s person-centered, recovery-oriented approach and commitment to dignity, compassion, accountability, and long-term stability for clients.
  • Maintain a grant calendar and ensure timely submission of applications, renewals, progress reports, and all required funder documentation.
  • Track submitted, pending, awarded, and declined grants and maintain organized records of deadlines, communications, compliance requirements, and deliverables.
  • Support post-award reporting and help monitor compliance with grant terms, program goals, data collection standards, confidentiality expectations, and organizational priorities.
  • Help strengthen LIV’s long-term funding strategy by identifying new funding opportunities and cultivating resources that support recovery housing and behavioral health services.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Public Health, Social Work, Nonprofit Management, Public Administration, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in grant writing, fundraising, or development, preferably in behavioral health, addiction recovery, human services, housing support, or nonprofit settings.
  • Excellent writing, editing, research, and verbal communication skills with the ability to present program impact and community need in a clear, compelling way.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple deadlines, priorities, and reporting requirements across funding sources.
  • Experience developing proposal narratives, budgets, work plans, and supporting documentation.
  • Familiarity with grant databases, online submission portals, Microsoft Office tools, and data tracking systems used for program or funding reporting.
Preferred Skills
  • Knowledge of sober living environments, recovery support services, outpatient behavioral health programs, and community-based treatment resources.
  • Familiarity with person-centered, trauma-informed, and recovery-oriented approaches to care.
  • Ability to translate client outcomes, housing stability, service utilization, and program impact into persuasive funding narratives.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy, confidentiality, accountability, and follow-through.
  • Collaborative approach and ability to work effectively with internal teams, external partners, and community stakeholders.
  • Passion for supporting individuals in recovery and contributing to a workplace culture grounded in dignity, compassion, and respect.
