The Chicago Lighthouse in Chicago, IL is seeking a full-time Grants Writer to cultivate funding relationships and manage proposals for foundations, corporations, and government funders.

You will research prospects, coordinate with program leads, submit around 35 proposals annually, and ensure timely grant reporting and acknowledgment to funders.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree and four years of grant writing experience, with strong writing skills and a donor-focused approach.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree and at least four years grant writing experience.
• Experience with nonprofit fundraising.
• Excellent writing and communication skills.
• Familiarity with Raiser’s Edge a plus.

Responsabilidades

• Research, prepare, submit, and manage grant proposals to foundations and government sources.
• Perform prospect research to evaluate corporate foundation and government grants.
• Identify and craft proposals with executive input for new funding opportunities.
• Submit approximately 35 proposals per year to funders.
• Ensure grant reporting and accountability to funders.
• Maintain grant tracking, records, and regular contact with funders.
• Coordinate site visits with funder representatives as needed.
• Support sponsorship activities and fundraising strategy implementation.
