The Chicago Lighthouse is seeking an experienced Grant Writer to cultivate relationships with corporate and foundation funders, manage proposals, and report on grant outcomes. The role supports the Financial Development team in advancing opportunities for the organization.

Responsibilities include researching prospects, preparing and submitting approximately 35 proposals yearly, and maintaining donor stewardship records. Travel about 15% and occasional evenings/weekends are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and at least four years of grant writing experience.
• Non-profit fundraising experience preferred.
• Strong writing and communication skills; proficient with Word/Excel; Raiser’s Edge a plus.

Responsabilités

• Research, prepare, submit, and manage grant proposals to foundations and corporations.
• Perform prospect research to identify new funding opportunities.
• Coordinate and submit ~35 proposals annually; manage reporting and stewardship documents.
• Maintain grant tracking, records, and donor communications; ensure timely recognition of gifts.
