Job summary

Rosie’s Place in Boston is seeking a Grant Writer to help research, identify, and solicit funding sources. You will develop persuasive proposals and materials for cultivation and funder stewardship, and work with program staff on grant implementation and reporting.

A successful candidate will have excellent writing and communications skills, the ability to work independently, and a creative interest in developing and testing funding strategies.

Qualifications

• Strong commitment to social justice and the mission of Rosie’s Place.
• Strong writing and editing skills gained from work experience or education.
• Minimum 2 years of fundraising experience, preferably with donor contact.
• Curiosity and strategic thinking applied to prospect research and donor strategies.
• Ability to work independently and prioritize to meet multiple deadlines.
• Strong organizational and planning skills with attention to detail.
• Experience with donor data systems; Raiser's Edge preferred.
• Flexible team player with a positive attitude.

Responsibilities

• Write and edit persuasive funding requests and materials for corporate/foundation audiences.
• Solicit and cultivate an assigned portfolio of mid-level donors and manage stewardship.
• Contribute to funder strategy and complete related tasks to meet Development goals.
• Conduct research to inform grant strategies, identify opportunities, and screen prospects.
• Develop knowledge of Rosie’s Place priority programs and initiatives.
• Collaborate with leadership on site visits, donor calls, and foundation meetings.
• Lead post-award grant implementation meetings and reporting with staff.
• Maintain up-to-date records in Raiser's Edge/NXT.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
