Bread & Roses Community Fund seeks a Senior Development Writer to join its development and communications team. The role focuses on crafting persuasive grant proposals, reports, and donor materials, while shaping the organization’s storytelling across audiences in service of the mission.

The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in grant writing, superb editing, and the ability to manage multiple projects with precision.

Qualifications

• Six years of full-time professional experience in grant writing or related fields.
• Superior writing and editing skills with ability to tell compelling stories.
• Track record of securing grants from individuals and institutional funders.
• Knowledge of fundraising principles.
• Excellent written and oral English skills.
• Ability to handle multiple drafts and meet deadlines.
• Detail-oriented, organized, and capable of fast-paced collaboration.
• Proficiency with Microsoft 365, Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Communicate mission, vision, and values through donor and funder materials.
• Serve as principal writer and editor for solicitation and stewardship materials.
• Research, compose, edit, and proofread personalized correspondence.
• Gather information about grantees and programs for varied audiences.
• Collaborate with development to prepare talking points and briefs.
• Write, edit, and format grant proposals, reports, and donor letters.
• Edit drafts of proposals and presentations as requested.
• Ensure external materials follow style guide and brand guidelines.
• Learn Bread & Roses’ vision, mission, values, and programs.
• Provide seasonal support for gift processing at high-volume times.
