Job summary

Rosie’s Place in Boston, MA is seeking a Grant Writer to join the Development team. Reporting to the Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations, the Grant Writer will research, identify, and solicit new and current funding sources and develop persuasive proposals for cultivation and stewardship.

The ideal candidate has excellent writing and communications skills, can work independently, and is eager to help implement grant programs with program staff.

Qualifications

• Strong writing and editing abilities with excellent communication skills.
• Minimum 2 years of fundraising experience with donor contact and grant requests preferred.
• Ability to work independently and manage competing deadlines.
• Familiarity with donor data management systems; Raiser’s Edge preferred.
• Curiosity and strategic thinking for prospect research and cultivation.

Responsibilities

• Write and edit persuasive funding requests and materials for corp/found audiences.
• Solicit and cultivate a portfolio of mid-level corp/found donors for stewardship and retention.
• Contribute to funder strategy and related tasks to achieve goals.
• Research prospects to inform strategies and identify opportunities.
• Maintain knowledge of Rosie’s Place priority programs and initiatives.
• Participate in site visits and donor meetings with leadership for cultivation.
• Lead post-award grant implementation meetings and develop reports.
• Keep donor records up to date in the CRM system.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
