Job summary

Jamestown-Yorktown Foundation seeks an Institutional Giving Officer to craft persuasive proposals and funding requests. You will gather program data, build compelling stories, and manage grant timelines to engage foundations, corporations, individuals, and government funders.

You will also turn foundation work into clear donor communications, editing the magazine Inside JYF and donor reports, plus fundraising appeals, newsletters, and website content.

Qualifications

• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Proven grant writing or persuasive writing experience.
• Superb interpersonal skills with colleagues and donors.
• Strong attention to detail and deadline-driven.
• Results oriented and self-driven with initiative.
• Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Raiser's Edge or equivalents.
• Ability to work with staff and volunteers at all levels.
• Ability to handle confidential information securely.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks in a changing environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop persuasive grant proposals, funding requests and reports aligning programs with funder priorities.
• Collaborate across the foundation to gather program data and compelling stories.
• Manage grant timelines, reporting requirements and donor communications.
• Support donor and development events and related communications.
