Job summary

The Jamestown-Yorktown Foundation seeks an Institutional Giving Officer to develop persuasive grant proposals, funding requests, and reports that connect our programs with foundations, corporations, individuals, and government funders. You will collaborate across JYF to gather program data and stories, manage grant timelines and reporting, and build relationships with funders throughout the grant cycle.

You’ll also help translate the Foundation’s work into donor communications for Inside JYF,

Qualifications

• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Proven experience in grant writing or other persuasive writing.
• Superb interpersonal skills.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Results oriented and self-driven.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Raiser's Edge or equivalent.
• Ability to work with staff and volunteers of all levels.
• Ability to process and secure confidential information.
• Ability to work within a fluid environment and to handle multiple tasks and changing priorities.

Responsibilities

• Develop grant proposals, funding requests, and narrative reports for foundations, corporations, individuals, and government funders.
• Gather program data and compelling stories; manage grant timelines and reporting requirements.
• Build productive relationships with funding partners across the grant cycle.
• Support donor communications including magazines, donor reports, and fundraising appeals.
