The City of Moses Lake is seeking a Grant Writer/Administrator to research, draft, and submit grant proposals and to build and maintain relationships with funders. The role requires tracking grant compliance, preparing reports, and providing support to staff and City Council on grant-related matters.
Under the Finance Director and City leadership, you will manage contracts, review proposals, and assist in preparing annual reports and budgets. Spanish language skills are a plus.

Under the general direction of the Finance Director, the Grant Writer/Administrator will strive to receive funding from different organizations and individuals by researching, drafting, and submitting proposals. The Grant Writer/Administrator is responsible for discovering grant opportunities and building and maintaining relationships with funders, donors, and others within the community; preparing and making presentations; tracking and ensuring compliance with associated grant requirements; and preparing applicable reports.
The Finance Director or designee assigns work in terms of general instructions and spot-checks completed work for compliance with procedures, accuracy, and the nature and propriety of the final results.
Guidelines include federal, state, City, and department policies and procedures. These guidelines require judgment, selection, and interpretation in application.
The work consists of varied duties related to grant writing and administration. Strict regulations and the need for accuracy contribute to the complexity of the position.
Work is performed in an office environment and requires the ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time and access all areas of the facility including stairs. Work requires eye/hand coordination and manipulations skills to operate a personal computer, telephone, and other equipment; normal range of hearing and visual acuity; and occasionally moving items in excess of 25 pounds.

Beginning January 1, 2024, the City began offering an optional Flexible Spending Account (FSA) for healthcare and dependent care. Employees of the City receive eleven (11) paid holidays plus one (1) floating holiday annually. Vacation accrual begins at 12 days annually and increases with years of service. Sick leave is accrued at the rate of eight (8) hours per month.
