Position Summary:

The BrandLab seeks a detail-oriented, experienced Grant Writer (Contract) to support our fundraising efforts through the development of compelling proposals, prospect research, and reports to foundation, corporate, and government funders. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of securing grants, exceptional writing skills, and the ability to synthesize complex information into persuasive, asset-framed, and mission-aligned narratives.

The BrandLab is a 501(c)(3) non-profit based in the Midwest with offices in Minneapolis, MN, and Milwaukee, WI, providing exciting internships, scholarships, and educational opportunities in marketing and advertising for young people ages 15-25.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Research and identify new funding opportunities aligned with organizational priorities
  • Draft and submit letters of inquiry, grant proposals, and supporting materials
  • Coordinate with program and finance staff to gather data and develop budgets and outcomes
  • Track submission deadlines and reporting requirements for active grants
  • Prepare interim and final reports for funders in collaboration with internal teams
  • Maintain accurate records of proposals, deadlines, and communications in the grant tracking system
Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of grant writing experience for nonprofit organizations
  • Demonstrated success in securing foundation, corporate, or government funding
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and project management skills
  • Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects at once
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Familiarity with nonprofit budgets and outcomes-based reporting
