The University of Miami's Radiology - Vascular Interventional Research unit is seeking a Sponsored Programs Specialist to manage all aspects of research funding, monitor sponsored accounts, and ensure compliance with sponsor requirements.

The role partners with faculty and research teams to prepare and submit grant proposals, review awards, manage budgets, and process post-award actions while safeguarding university assets and maintaining accurate records for successful projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is required.
• Minimum 1 year of relevant experience is required.
• Certification and licensing requirements as per department description.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to work in a team.

Responsabilités

• Monitor sponsored accounts for compliance and expenditures, and follow up with stakeholders.
• Resolve expenditure issues, including discrepancies and overdrafts.
• Analyze awarded accounts, research the accounting system, and coordinate with departments to resolve issues.
• Review HR transactions that affect sponsored accounts (hires, changes, overloads).
• Approve payroll and non-payroll entries impacting sponsored accounts.
• Prepare and transmit sponsored accounts to finance, and close accounts at award termination.
• Ensure unobligated funds are released from purchase orders and safeguard assets.
