Job summary

The Florida Division of Emergency Management in Tallahassee is seeking a Quality Control Specialist to oversee the quality control review of subgrant agreements and reimbursement payments across grant programs. You will assist in financial reporting, maintain budgets, and provide technical guidance to sub-recipients and local governments.

Ideal candidates have at least four years in financial management, contract management, or related operations, proficiency with Word, Excel, and enterprise

Qualifications

• Four years of experience in financial management, contract management, and/or operations (or related fields).
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to learn FDEM enterprise systems.
• FCCM certification or ability to obtain within 12 months of employment.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Mitigation Fiscal Operations Unit by providing financial reporting assistance and quality control of the mitigation program activities.
• Provide financial and quality control review of all subgrant agreements and reimbursement payments.
• Process payments and work with the bureau’s Financial Specialists to accurately reimburse subgrantees.
• Enter new award budget, project information, and maintain subgrant and obligation budgets in state financial systems.
• Provide program support, technical assistance and consultation to sub-recipients, contractors, local governments, and interested parties regarding mitigation programs.
• Provide training and briefings related to quality control of contracts and payments to staff as needed.
• Assist in tracking local match applied to Hazard Mitigation Grant Program (HMGP) projects for FDEM financial quarterly reporting.
• Assist and travel as needed in response to and recovery from declared and non-declared disasters.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
