Job summary

Southern Ute Indian Tribe seeks a Grants Coordinator to plan, write, edit, and prepare grant applications and conduct research on funding opportunities. The role supports Tribal Environmental Programs and ensures compliance with grant regulations and budget reporting.

The incumbent will work with Environmental Programs staff to assemble grant packages, monitor progress, present grant resolutions to Tribal Council, and maintain auditable records for funding agencies.

Qualifications

• Must have a BA/BS in Professional/Technical Writing, Communication, Marketing, English, or related field.
• Must have 2 years of grant writing experience including preparing grant applications and renewals.
• Must have experience reviewing and interpreting sponsor, state, and federal grant regulations.
• Must provide demonstrated record of securing funding because of grant applications and renewals.
• Must have advanced computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat.
• Must have general experience and knowledge of finance, budget development, and grant administration.
• Must complete a Microsoft Word and Excel exercise to verify knowledge and writing ability.
• Must pass a thorough criminal history background check.

Responsibilities

• Assists in identifying programs responsive to Tribal needs and securing funding.
• Coordinates grant writing workplans and budgets with input from leadership.
• Assembles grant application packages ensuring accuracy, completeness and clarity.
• Edits and reviews final grant applications for policy and deadline compliance.
• Creates tables and graphs for grant applications.
• Maintains records of proposal submissions and documents in tracking systems.
• Develops and conducts training related to grant funding selection and submission.
• Monitors programs for compliance with applicable regulations and budgets.
