The Grants Payment Specialist at the Texas Department of Agriculture in Austin, TX handles complex grant financial processing and compliance across multiple programs servicing small businesses, non-profits, and agricultural producers.

Under general supervision, you will review reimbursement requests, verify documentation, prepare payment recommendations, monitor expenditures, and assist with grant closeout while ensuring compliance with grant terms and applicable state and federal requirements.

Qualificações

• Bachelor’s degree; one year of work experience related to the primary responsibilities may substitute for one year of college.
• One year of work experience in grant payment processing, financial review, contract specialist, or grants management.
• Knowledge of laws and regulations pertaining to grants and/or contract administration; budgeting processes.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.

Responsabilidades

• Review and approve reimbursement requests to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with grant terms and budgets.
• Verify supporting documentation (invoices, receipts, personnel records) for allowability and proper categorization.
• Prepare and submit payment recommendations according to policies and timelines.
• Monitor expenditures against budgets and identify discrepancies or non-compliance issues.
• Communicate with grantees to resolve payment issues and provide guidance on documentation and reporting.
