Job summary

Texas Department of Agriculture's Financial Services Division seeks a Senior General Ledger Accountant to perform highly complex accounting work, analyze financial data for accuracy, and assist with the Annual Financial Report. Responsibilities include preparing journal vouchers, reconciling accounts, and providing audit-ready documentation.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and state laws pertaining to public funds and governmental finances.
• Ability to perform and interpret numerical analyses and summaries.
• Experience with AFR preparation and complex reconciliations.
• Familiarity with CAPPS or related accounting systems.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and prepare monthly financial reports, annual financial statements, reports, schedules and exhibits.
• Prepare, review, and process journal entries in CAPPS and USAS.
• Develop or produce complex reports such as CMIA, APS-011, and ICRP.
• Audit cash processing activities and respond to audit findings.
