Job summary

Texas Workforce Commission is seeking a Grant Specialist III in Austin to lead complex grant development, coordination, and administration. The role reports to the Strategic Workforce Grants or AEL & Apprenticeship Grants departments and requires navigating laws, regulations, and best practices with external partners.

Qualifications

• Two years of full-time grants administration experience.
• Knowledge of grants statutes and contract administration.
• Ability to interpret guidelines, policies, and regulations; evaluate fiscal data.

Responsibilities

• Provide guidance and assistance to external clients regarding grant administration, policies, and procedures; and resolves related issues and concerns.
• Review submitted grant applications and determine applicant eligibility for award based on criteria.
• Coordinate and approve work plans to ensure timely state or federal grant submissions and reports.
• Identify external funds sources and create proposals to secure new grant opportunities.
• Develop and edit grant documents incorporating stakeholder feedback.
• Monitor implementation, management, evaluation, and close-out of grants per rules and regulations.
• Serve as a subject matter expert in grant administration and liaise with agency, state, and funding sources.
• Monitor deliverables and expenditures and provide progress feedback to clients.
• Participate in data management projects and development of standard operating procedures.
