City of West Haven is seeking a Part-time Public Health Associate to support budget analysis and reporting for the DPH per capita grant, with emphasis on the mosquito larvicide program and radon testing initiatives.

The role blends office work and field activities, involving cross-department data collection, program development on lead exposure and opioids, and support for vaccination clinics within the Health Department.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in public health, environmental health, or a related field is required.
• MPH, or related advanced degree, preferred.
• Experience in public health program management and budget analysis.
• Strong analytical skills and proficiency in data collection and reporting.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
• Knowledge of public health principles and practices.

Responsabilités

• Assist the Director of Health with the analysis and reporting of the DPH per capita grant budget.
• Ensure accurate reporting to maintain funding for the mosquito larvicide program and other identified programs.
• Manage the residential radon testing program and ensure compliance with public health standards.
• Collaborate with team members to develop grant proposals and funding applications.
• Collect and compile statistical data from various departments for comprehensive reports.
• Assist in development of programming focused on lead exposure, opioids, and community assessments.
• Contribute to strategic planning for the Health Department.
• Conduct inspections related to food service, nuisance complaints, cosmetology, and lead poisoning.
• Assist with vaccination clinics and related public health initiatives.
