Job summary

Del Mar College is seeking a grant-funded Construction Trades Instructor for a pool of part-time, non-exempt positions in Corpus Christi, TX. The instructor will provide classroom instruction and hands-on shop experiences in Building Maintenance and related trades, teaching safety, tools, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, and construction technology.

Minimum qualifications include an Associate Degree in Building Maintenance or related field and five years of related work experience; a

Associate Degree in Building Maintenance or related construction fields.
Five (5) years of related work experience.
Knowledge of teaching strategies and methods that enhance student success.
Ability to plan course instruction based upon approved syllabus to ensure content and objectives are met.
Ability to utilize instructional technologies while teaching.
Ability to teach and communicate with students from varied multicultural backgrounds.
Bachelor Degree in Building Maintenance or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

Classroom instruction, hands-on learning, lecturing and assessing student progress.
Provide students with a written and accessible course syllabus that outlines goals, requirements and schedule.
Maintain professional relationships with students, colleagues and the community.
Review, evaluate, and revise assessments to improve program outcomes and ensure compliance with standards.
