The University of Miami's Rosenstiel School of Marine, Atmospheric, and Earth Science seeks a Financial Analyst to support grant accounting, proposals, and award closeout within the department. The role emphasizes accuracy, reporting, and compliance with University, State, and Federal policies.

You will work with faculty and staff, prepare financial reports, monitor budgets, and coordinate with the Office of Research Administration, ensuring timely and reliable fiscal information.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred in Finance, Accounting, Research Administration or related field.
• Two years of progressively responsible experience, preferably in an academic and research setting.
• Experience in research administration highly preferred.
• Strong accounting and analytical skills.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Excellent computer (specifically Excel) and organizational skills.
• Attention to detail.
• Ability to learn quickly.

Responsabilités

• Prepare and submit comprehensive financial reports for grants and awards.
• Maintain detailed salary projection spreadsheets for faculty, staff and students.
• Process amendments, budget continuations, no-cost extensions, and funding requests.
• Perform account reconciliations and ensure compliance with policies.
• Monitor burn rates and notify investigators as needed.
• Support closeout of awards with the Office of Research Administration.
