Job summary

The Maine Department of Agriculture, Conservation and Forestry seeks a Contract/Grant Manager to support grant and disaster recovery programs in Augusta on a limited-period basis. Remote work options are available subject to management approval.

You will administer grant agreements, monitor expenditures, coordinate with partners, and provide technical assistance to applicants and awardees through the full grant lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Grant and contract administration, monitoring, and compliance.
• Knowledge of state/federal funding requirements.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to review financial and program documents.

Responsibilities

• Administer state and federal grant agreements and monitor expenditures, deliverables, and program requirements.
• Serve as a key program contact for applicants and awardees, providing technical assistance and troubleshooting grant administration issues.
• Review applications, reimbursement requests, reports, and supporting documentation for completeness and compliance.
• Coordinate with federal and state agencies, contractors, reviewers, and other partners involved in program implementation.
• Conduct monitoring and due diligence activities, including site visits as needed, to ensure funds are used appropriately and requirements are met.
• Maintain program records and reporting systems, and collect, analyze, and report data related to awards, expenditures, outcomes, compliance, and performance.
• Support outreach, informational sessions, grant procedures and guidance, and other grant and contract activities within Agricultural Resource Development.
