Ready to Make an Impact?
Emergent Method's management consultants work hand-in-hand with organizations to navigate consequential moments, implement innovative solutions for complex challenges, and connect programs and initiatives directly to the people and communities they impact.
We're looking for an organized, detail-oriented, and proactive problem solver who is experienced in grant and program management and excited to work on large-scale, federally funded grant programs.
The Work You Can Do
As a grant and program management consultant, you'll work alongside experienced consultants to contribute to projects that call for recurring grant management, tracking, reporting, and follow-up activities for the firm's clients; building and maintaining effective tracking systems; and independently managing recurring workstreams with limited oversight.
You Work May Include
- Developing, building, and maintaining grant and project management trackers, tools, and systems to provide structure and consistency for the tracking, reporting, management, and completion of assigned grant activities
- Drafting, compiling, and reviewing project and workforce program reports to ensure accuracy, completion, and alignment with funder requirements
- Tracking project and workforce milestones, outcomes, metrics, risks, and performance measures and reporting on progress against goals
- Monitoring subrecipient budgets, spending, reporting, and documentation, reviewing invoices and coordinating directly with subrecipients to ensure accuracy, completion, and compliance with reporting requirements
- Identifying and escalating reporting, financial, compliance, or performance issues and recommending solutions to ensure program progress
- Communicating clearly and proactively with clients, subrecipients, and internal team members by sharing relevant program information and updates, documenting progress, and following up until items are resolved
The Teammate We're Looking For
- Highly organized, methodical, and capable of building and maintaining effective processes
- Has strong written and verbal communication skills
- Holds work to high standards while challenging themselves to continue learning and improving
- Takes initiative, follows through, and pays attention to the details
- Has the ability to move between projects and priorities without losing sight of deadlines
- Asks thoughtful questions, welcomes feedback, and enjoys working with a team
- Is willing to roll up their sleeves on any task - ranging from developing the big picture to getting the details right
- Has a strong understanding of how budgets and funds flow through a program, with a knowledge of budget tracking, expenditures, invoicing, and reimbursement
- Wants to build trust with clients by being prepared, responsive, and dependable
- Works effectively in a collaborative team environment and proactively shares information to keep team members informed of program progress, issues, and needs
- Is based in Baton Rouge, La.
What You'll Bring to the Team
- A bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business administration, public administration, economics, or a related field
- Two to three years of experience in grant management, program or project management, financial analysis, or related experience that clearly demonstrates comparable knowledge, skills, and abilities
- Experience supporting federally or state-funded programs, including grant administration, subrecipient monitoring, financial tracking, reporting, compliance, or workforce development is strongly preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office - especially Microsoft Excel, including formulas, lookups, pivot tables, and building trackers and reports from scratch
- Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain systems, processes, and tools that organize complex information and recurring work with an exceptional attention to detail, organized approach, and commitment to accuracy and deadlines
- Strong organization, communication, and time management skills
- Willingness to learn new skills, adopt new methodologies, and accept feedback
