Description

Bring grants, people, and projects together to make a difference.

Are you a detail-driven grant professional who thrives on turning complex requirements into successful outcomes? Do you enjoy bringing people together, keeping projects on track, and ensuring funding delivers meaningful results?

REJIS is looking for a Grant Administrator III to lead the post-award grant lifecycle and manage grant-funded projects from award acceptance through final closeout. In this pivotal role, you’ll connect compliance, financial stewardship, project delivery, and performance reporting to help ensure grant-funded initiatives meet their goals and make a measurable impact.

You’ll collaborate across teams, work with member agencies and community partners, and help leadership make informed decisions—all while keeping projects moving, budgets accountable, and funders confident.

What You’ll Do

Own the Grant Lifecycle

  • Keep compliance on track. Interpret award agreements, funding requirements, and applicable regulations, translating them into clear, actionable guidance for internal teams.

  • Protect funding and financial accountability. Monitor expenditures against approved budgets and partner with Finance on drawdowns, matching funds, cost sharing, indirect costs, and budget modifications.

  • Deliver accurate, timely reporting. Prepare and submit quarterly, semiannual, and annual financial and performance reports backed by complete documentation.

  • Maintain audit-ready records. Organize grant files, support audits and monitoring reviews, and oversee closeout activities, including final reports, equipment disposition, and records retention.

  • Stay ahead of changing requirements. Monitor regulatory and policy updates affecting criminal justice funding and advise leadership on potential impacts.

Lead Projects From Plan to Completion

  • Turn funding into action. Define project scopes, deliverables, milestones, schedules, resource needs, dependencies, and risks.

  • Keep projects moving. Track progress against goals, budgets, and performance measures; identify issues early and recommend corrective action.

  • Manage performance and accountability. Monitor subrecipients and contractors, review invoices, assess risk, and ensure reporting obligations are met.

Turn Data Into Better Decisions

  • Give leaders the big picture. Report on grant revenue, funding pipeline, spending, project health, and compliance risks.

  • Share knowledge. Train and advise staff and member agencies on grant administration, allowable costs, documentation standards, and grant systems.

  • Drive continuous improvement. Identify opportunities to strengthen processes, improve reporting, and support successful program delivery.

You’ll also contribute to broader organizational initiatives and take on other duties as needed.

Why This Role Matters

Successful grant management is about more than budgets, deadlines, and reports. It’s about making sure resources are used responsibly, partnerships stay strong, projects deliver on their commitments, and funded initiatives achieve meaningful results.

If you’re ready to combine grant expertise, project leadership, and a commitment to public-sector impact, we’d love to hear from you.

Bring your organizational skills, problem-solving mindset, and passion for results to REJIS.

Requirements

What You’ll Bring

You’re organized, analytical, proactive, and comfortable balancing big-picture goals with the details that keep grants and projects on track. You communicate clearly, work independently, and know how to bring people together to solve problems and deliver results.

Required qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in public administration, business administration, finance, criminal justice, political science, or a related field—or an equivalent combination of education and directly related experience.

  • At least five years of progressively responsible experience in grants management, project management, or nonprofit or government program administration.

  • Demonstrated experience managing awards throughout the post-award lifecycle.

  • Demonstrated experience managing projects with defined scopes, schedules, and budgets.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel for budget development, tracking, and pivot tables, and Word.

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to write persuasively for funders and communicate effectively with technical and nontechnical audiences.

  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to independently manage multiple priorities and deadlines with accuracy.

Preferred qualifications

  • Working knowledge of 2 CFR Part 200 (Uniform Guidance) and federal single-audit requirements.

  • Experience with federal criminal justice funding programs, such as DOJ, BJA, BJS, OJJDP, COPS, or DHS.

  • Familiarity with JustGrants, Grants.gov, SAM.gov, and grant management, CRM, or project tracking systems.

  • Project management training or familiarity with formal project management methodologies.

  • Experience in public safety, criminal justice, or an intergovernmental environment.
