Job summary

The State of Missouri is seeking an energetic, detail-oriented grants specialist to join the department at 920 Wildwood Dr., Jefferson City. You will support grant processing, use the state's financial system, and maintain grant files to ensure accurate, timely processing.

A bachelor's degree and 0–2 years' relevant experience are required; strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s degree and 0-2 years of relevant experience (substitutions may be allowed).
• Highly organized, proactive and possess strong analytical skills.
• Ability to manage time, prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Exercise independence, judgment, and initiative in the performance of their duties.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily process flow for divisional processing teams.
• Work with various DHSS divisions to ensure consistent purchasing and payment processing.
• Analyze payment requests utilizing federal, state, and departmental guidelines.
• Approve various payment documents utilizing the state financial system.
• Communicate effectively with and assist program team members.
• Work hand in hand with team members to ensure data integrity.
• Utilize Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Access, Internet, and the state's financial system to complete duties.
• Serve as back-up to other team members to ensure forward movement for the division.
• Maintaining and updating grant files.
• Assist with projects for the bureau in relation to process improvement.
• Review tasks and recommend process improvements related to the position.
• Provide training and guidance to new team members as needed.
