Job summary

Office of Economic Opportunity in Phoenix, AZ seeks an Accountant II to manage grant accounting and financial management for the Rural Health Workforce Development and Training Program. Position is grant-funded with funding contingent on availability. May offer remote work within Arizona based on department needs and performance.

Reporting to Accounting Manager, you will perform day-to-day grant accounting, budget monitoring, and financial reporting for program compliance and audits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field is required or preferred.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and government accounting concepts.
• Experience with financial reporting and internal controls is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Track and analyze expenditures across all RHTP components.
• Review fiscal transactions for accuracy and compliance.
• Reconcile financial reports and maintain ledgers.
• Prepare financial reports for audits and monitoring activities.
• Support grant budgets and compliance checks for RGAs/RFPs/subawards.
