Job summary

St. Charles Parish Public Schools is seeking a finance professional to manage grant accounting and financial reporting for the district. You will analyze documentation, reconcile with the general ledger, and prepare complex statements.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Accounting and 3-5 years of governmental accounting experience, plus familiarity with policy compliance and auditing support. Proficiency in Google, MS Office, and LINQ ERP is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required.
• 3-5 years of governmental accounting experience required.
• Successful completion of the District-provided assessment required.
• Significant understanding of grant accounting functions.
• Knowledge of School Board policies, Federal, State, and local laws and regulations governing School Board business.
• Experience with Google, MS Office and LINQ ERP recommended.

Responsibilities

• Analyzes supporting documentation from outside sources and reconciles information with the general ledger.
• Prepares and posts adjusting journal entries with references necessary to track a transaction.
• Prepares or designs complex financial, statistical, and accounting statements and reports.
• Provides guidance or technical direction to accounting, bookkeeping, or clerical personnel in the department and in the school district.
• Assists auditors for the purpose of providing supporting documentation and/or information on internal processes that is required for audit.
• Prepares accurate and timely financial reports for grant funding agencies and internal stakeholders and track deadlines.
• Monitors and reviews grant reporting to ensure compliance with funding agency requirements and internal policies.
• Prepares the yearly Schedule of Expenditures of Financial Awards.
