Qualifications

  • 3+ years of accounting experience, preferably with grant accounting.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting principles.
  • Experience managing multiple grants and funding sources.

Responsibilities

  • Manage grant accounting activities, tracking revenue, expenses, and funding restrictions.
  • Prepare and submit financial reports to grantors per reporting requirements.
  • Monitor grant budgets and perform variance analysis for leadership.
  • Ensure compliance with grant agreements, regulatory requirements, and policies.
  • Reconcile grant-related accounts and maintain accurate records.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end close processes for grant funding.
  • Support annual audits by preparing grant documentation and responding to requests.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to develop grant budgets and forecasts.
  • Identify and implement improvements to strengthen grant accounting controls.

Qualifications – Grant Accountant
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 3+ years of accounting experience, with grant accounting experience preferred
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting principles
  • Experience managing multiple grants and funding sources simultaneously
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software systems
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Nonprofit accounting experience and knowledge of grant compliance requirements preferred
  • CPA or CPA-track candidates highly encouraged to apply
