Job summary

Columbia Grain International in Chinook, MT is seeking a Warehouse Operator to document grain receiving, storing and shipping at our grain elevators and work with the team to meet production goals while upholding quality and efficiency.

Responsibilities include weighing grain, printing scale tickets, sampling, monitoring storage tanks, operating conveyors and forklifts, and maintaining equipment. Adherence to safety policies and thorough housekeeping are required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment preferred, not required.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
• Basic knowledge of working with a computer and mechanical skills.
• Good work ethic with team orientation, safety and quality focus.

Responsibilities

• Operate production equipment; start/stop flow of grain.
• Accurately weigh grain and record in computer system; print and sign scale tickets.
• Take samples of all unloaded and loaded grain.
• Maintain charts for storage tanks and bins.
• Complete and monitor grades by weighing samples and recording results.
• Operate conveyors, elevators, and storage tanks for load out or storage.
• Prepare rail cars for loading; use safety procedures for rail height.
• Operate a forklift.
• Maintain equipment and document maintenance.
• General housekeeping and sanitation.
• Follow all safety policies and procedures.
• Other duties as assigned.
