Job summary

Ag 1 Source is seeking an Operations Manager for our Central Kansas grain rail terminal. You will support the Rail Terminal Manager in directing daily operations, safety, customer service, maintenance, and grain quality, while leading a team of full-time, part-time, and transfer employees.

This hands-on role requires a proactive leader who can manage schedules, coordinate repairs, ensure compliance, and foster staff development in a high-capacity, automated facility in a vital agricultural

Qualifications

• Leadership experience in grain facility or similar operational environment.
• Strong knowledge of grain elevator equipment and rail logistics.
• Hands-on maintenance and minor repairs.
• Grain grading knowledge (corn, wheat, beans, milo).
• Strong communication, data entry, and computer literacy skills.
• Ability to work independently, solve problems, and adapt quickly.
• Class 7B fumigation license (or ability to obtain and maintain).
• High school diploma or college degree with 3–5+ years in a similar role.

Responsibilities

• Support the Rail Terminal Manager in directing daily terminal operations including safety, customer service, maintenance, and grain quality.
• Supervise full-time, part-time, and transfer employees as part of the facility leadership team.
• Ensure efficient facility performance, strong customer experiences, and compliance with safety and operational standards.
• Lead day-to-day maintenance activities and coordinate repairs or upgrades with the Rail Terminal Manager.
• Oversee grain grading, fumigation, and blending processes to maintain top-tier grain quality.
• Represent the facility professionally with customers, vendors, and regulatory agencies.
