Job summary

Heartland Feed Services in Minster, Ohio seeks a reliable Grain Operations Technician to support daily facility operations including grain handling, corn processing, grading, and inventory management. The Grain Superintendent reports to the Location Manager and helps keep the facility safe, efficient, and aligned with company goals.

The ideal candidate is self-motivated, able to work independently, and comfortable working in varying weather.

Qualifications

• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and efficiently.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Basic reading and comprehension skills.
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and multitask effectively.
• Working knowledge of workplace safety practices and procedures.
• Valid driver’s license; CDL preferred but not required.
• Ability and willingness to climb ladders and work at elevated heights to inspect and repair equipment.
• Ability to perform physical and manual labor in various weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the manufacturing and processing of scratch grains and ground corn.
• Perform a variety of duties both inside and outside the facility as needed.
• Complete daily opening and closing procedures.
• Conduct routine facility and equipment maintenance.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment while adhering to all company safety policies and procedures.
• Provide outstanding customer service by supporting our patrons' needs and delivering a positive customer experience.
• Manage and monitor grain inventory.
• Inspect equipment and report or address maintenance needs.
• Assist with grain handling, receiving, storage, and grading operations.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
