Job summary

Mercer Landmark Inc is seeking an Operations Technician to support our grain and agronomy operations. The role may be based at one of our facilities and may require travel between nearby locations as business needs dictate.

The position involves a variety of duties including grain handling, facility maintenance, housekeeping, equipment operation, and opening/closing procedures. A safety‑conscious, independent worker is essential for delivering reliable service to our patrons.

Qualifications

• Must be highly motivated and able to work independently.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Basic reading and comprehension required.
• Strong organizational skills; ability to prioritize and multitask.
• Knowledge of workplace safety procedures and practices.
• Valid state driver's license required; CDL a plus.
• Forklift experience preferred or willingness to become certified.
• Ability to climb ladders and inspect equipment.
• Willingness to perform manual labor and follow instructions.
• Ability to safely use equipment, tools, and supplies in facility operations.
• Able to lift heavy objects and work long hours in varying conditions.
• Understanding of seasonal agricultural cycles and peak-season hours.
• Professional interaction with customers and employees at all levels.

Responsibilities

• Perform tasks inside and outside the facility as needed.
• Assist with grain handling, receiving, storage, grading, and shipping.
• Carry out opening and closing duties of facilities.
• Maintenance, housekeeping, and cleaning responsibilities.
• Operate forklifts and other equipment as assigned.
• Inspect equipment and facilities and assist with minor repairs.
• Maintain clean, safe, and orderly work areas per safety standards.
• Travel between facilities as needed to support operations.
• Provide excellent customer service to patrons and promote Mercer Landmark.
