Job summary

Nutreco, owner of the Hi-Pro Feeds brand, is seeking a Commodity Trader for operations in Comanche, TX (and Friona, TX). The role focuses on developing trading skills, market analysis, and vendor relationships to secure supply and execute trades efficiently.

The ideal candidate has a business degree or equivalent experience, at least two years in merchandising, and strong knowledge of grain markets and hedging strategies. Travel may be required to support transport and logistics coordination.

Qualifications

• Degree in a business-related field or equivalent experience.
• At least two years of merchandising experience.
• Proven knowledge of grain markets, hedging strategies, and commodity flows.
• Knowledge of agricultural trading standards and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Develop and utilize trade skills in purchasing and execution in a defined market.
• Use market analytics to secure commodity supply and optimize buying/selling decisions.
• Build and maintain vendor relationships and collaborate with logistics partners.
• Assist or lead logistics planning and execution for commodity movements.
• Manage contracts and settlements with vendors and customers.
