Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Workplace Health & Safety Specialist (WHSS) to lead safety programs and champion a data-driven safety culture at its Omaha site. You will conduct audits, investigations, and risk assessments while partnering with teams to protect associates and improve productivity.

This role requires lifting up to 49 pounds, shift flexibility, and knowledge of OSHA 29 CFR 1910. A bachelor’s degree or equivalent EHS experience is preferred, with First Aid/CPR certifications ideal.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1 year in an EHS-related field or a bachelor’s in EHS-related background.
• Knowledge of OSHA regulations specifically 29 CFR 1910.
• Experience using Microsoft Word and Excel in a professional capacity.
• Experience maintaining confidentiality in matters involving security or personal issues in the workplace.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily safety audits, incident investigations, and risk assessments.
• Deliver engaging safety training to associates and promote proactive safety culture.
• Champion continuous improvement initiatives to enhance workplace safety and productivity.
• Maintain effective safety communications and act as safety advisor across the site.
