Job summary

Mott MacDonald in Austin, TX is hiring for its 2026 Blueprint graduate program in civil engineering. You will engage in a three-year development journey with immersive learning, mentored by industry experts, and structured sessions to build professional, commercial, and personal effectiveness.

You’ll tackle tunnel design, calculations, CAD drawings, feasibility studies, and QA/QC with multidisciplinary teams; strong applicants will show internships, EIT pursuit, and collaboration skills.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Assist in tunnel design development including shafts and linings

As a participant in our brand‑new graduate program,Blueprint, launching in October 2026, you’ll embark on a structured three‑year development journey designed in collaboration with an award‑winning learning provider. The program blends immersive learning experiences with mandatory development sessions to build the professional, commercial, and personal effectiveness skills to equip graduates to thrive and lead in our business.

Your responsibilities may include:
  • Assisting in the development of tunnel designs, including shafts, linings, and underground structures
  • Performing engineering calculations and support structural and geotechnical analysis
  • Develop and review engineering drawings using CAD and modeling tools
  • Support preparation of feasibility studies, technical reports, and design deliverables
  • Contributing to internal design reviews and QA/QC processes
  • Maintaining organized design documentation and records
  • Coordinating with multidisciplinary teams (geotechnical, structural, civil)
  • Participating in internal project meetings and track actions
  • Support preparation of presentations and technical summaries
  • Building connections through our Early Career Professionals Network
To be considered for this 2026 opportunity, here's what you'll need:
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering, or related field
  • Successful completion of EIT exam, or ability to take EIT exam within 12 months
  • Demonstrated interest in your chosen field through previous internships, volunteering opportunities, or organization memberships
  • Creative thinking skills, with a methodical and pragmatic approach to problem solving
  • Proficient communication and presentation skills to engage confidently with clients and colleagues
  • Resilient, solution‑oriented mindset, with a focus on continuous growth and delivering value
