Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in transportation, urban planning, civil engineering, or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
• Minimum of two years of applicable experience, including internship or professional experience.
• AICP certification required or ability to obtain within 6 months.
• Microsoft Suite products (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, OneDrive).

Responsibilities

• Participate in transportation planning, environmental documentation, public outreach, and grant writing projects.
• Typical projects include long-range transportation plans, corridor studies, sub-area plans, pedestrian and bicycle plans, federal environmental documents, and grant applications.
• Conduct technical analyses and evaluations for transportation projects.
• Write sections of reports and memos for various transportation planning projects.
• Assist in developing materials for public and governmental agency engagement.
• Support senior staff as directed on project tasks.
• Apply transportation methods, planning principles, and standard industry evaluations and analyses with input and guidance from senior staff.
• Communicate ideas clearly both verbally and in writing.
• May remain in stationary position for extended periods.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
